Mazar-i-Sharif, Balkh, Afghanistan – Humaira Ghamgusar took this photo showing the abuse this young woman suffered while still protecting her identity. Cultivating trust with subjects in sensitive situations is difficult at the best of times, but with the cultural considerations in Afghanistan, it becomes and even more challenging. The exhibit was organized and funded by CCA, Balkh U Journalism Dept. and the Goethe Institute.
